"This shop is an amazing connection point for the community. That's why I love being here."
The other day a lady named Kim West came in to shop, and we ended up in conversation with her. During our conversation, we found out she had a prison ministry at the local women's prison. A week later she called and asked us to be a part of "Release Week."
At Release Week, Beautiful Lives Boutique put on a fashion show for the ladies in prison. Afterwards we were able to talk with the women about what to wear to a job interview. We did this because most of them will be going out into the real world and will need to find a job. We had also partnered with New Heights Women's Ministry to be able to give $20 gift cards to ladies being released from prison. We have seen several of these ladies come in the shop.
Stories like this tend to happen here at Beautiful Lives Boutique. I started volunteering here because I needed community and a purpose. Working here with the team has given me that. This shop is an amazing connection point for the community. That's why I love being here. Some of the connections come from the many ministries we support. Some of the connections come from people simply walking into the store.
