“My freshman year I randomly came to a Global Sunday at New Heights. At that point, I had never really heard anything about missions, and for the first time I heard about unreached people groups and the 10/40 window. The Holy Spirit totally met me on that Sunday morning and I was just on my knees in tears. I was like, ‘There are people who have never heard about Jesus before and I think He might be asking me to do something about that.’
A week after that, I was at a campus ministry called Cru and they challenged me to go on a summer mission trip to East Asia. It was such a direct response from the past Sunday where I felt God asking me to be involved in missions and then I was immediately challenged to go overseas. So I got to go to East Asia for a good portion of my summer and see what it looks like to be a missionary overseas.
One thing that I've really seen by getting to serve with Global Outfitters is how the Church brings the kingdom of God to a place. It’s radical to see how a place changes when the gospel and the Church are brought there. Our Global Workers are making such an impact by bringing the Church to the nations.
My encouragement to anyone who is feeling drawn to missions is to seek the Lord and ask him where he might have open opportunities and open doors for you specifically to get involved. I really think he’s invited every one of us to be a part of this. He has a specific plan for each one of us in his mission. It’s really beautiful to get to discover that. I would also say that you don’t have to go overseas to be a missionary. The nations are here. There are people from all over the world that are living in NorthWest Arkansas. A good start would be becoming friends with international people here in Fayetteville.”
