"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field."
MATTHEW 13:44
Those who seek the kingdom of heaven are those who have sold everything they have, counting it as loss. They let go of their identity. They give up their relevance. They have friends who falsely think them judgmental and hypocritical. They have friends who think that they see everyone as a project. They don't get to pursue their own dreams. They are haunted and harrowed by Satan and his followers daily. God doesn't give them all of the answers. They don't get to stay angry with people who hurt them. They give away money that they could be spending on cool stuff. They let their kids go to sometimes dangerous places to share the gospel. They give away time they could be using for their own adventures. Many of the people in this kingdom are disowned by their own family–family who used to love them. Many of them are killed in torturous ways.
Is his kingdom worth it? Those who have sold it all, bought the field, and tasted of the treasure of the kingdom have answered this question with an enthusiastic yes.
