Lectio Divina
Read (x2) – Reflect – Respond – Rest
Open your Bible to Matthew 11:28-30. (Or pick a small selection of others)
Spend a minute being quiet and ask God to speak to you.
First Reading.
Read the passage through, one time, slowly. After you finish this first reading, be silent for a minute.Second Reading.
Read the text slowly once again. This time be aware of any words or phrases that catch your attention, or seem to stand out in some way. Make a mental note of those. After you finish the second reading, write down those special words or phrases.Reflection.
Ponder the words or phrases that moved you. Let the words interact with your thoughts, heart, desires and fears. Then ask God, “What do you want me to know today from this passage? Be quiet and listen for anything that comes to mind. Write down anything you sense God might be saying to you.Respond.
Thank God for any word and direction you have been given. Ask Him to help you live it out.Rest.
