Children

Kids should LOVE to come to church!

Our goal at New Heights is to help families own the spiritual development of the next generation. We want kids to know truth and believe in God’s word, and to really encounter the love of Jesus.

We also work to equip and resource parents to know how to talk with and train their children to follow Jesus.

We have worship and small group experiences geared toward each age and stage in a child's life, with strong leaders who will invest in their lives. Select an age range below to learn more.

We begin teaching our youngest about the love of Jesus through music, play time, art, and storytelling. So that we can impact each child in an age-appropriate way, we separate our young children into different groups based on their birthdays.

At New Heights we value relationships between our leaders and kids. Pre-K kids (3-5 year olds not yet in Kindergarten) start their morning off in small groups where they play with games and toys together. After the majority of the families have arrived, kids rotate through stations that allow them to be hands-on and active, learning the lesson for the week. Next is large group time, where we learn to worship God and where the story is shared. After large group, kids go back to their small groups where they pray for each other and the nations, and enjoy crafts and a snack.

Younger elementary kids begin on Sunday by joining their small group (grade and gender specific) for some fun hands-on activities. Then, we gather as a large group to worship and hear the teaching. We close out the mornings with small groups to discuss the teaching and prayer.

Older elementary school kids start in their small groups engaging with the day’s lesson through activities and games. We then provide a corporate worship and teaching time in the large group area across the hall. Afterwards we return to the classrooms and have a prayer and response time led by passionate leaders who desire to help spiritually develop the next generation.
